This week’s Sunday Post is about protecting Eastside assets and keeping momentum moving. I share the latest YMCA update, including United Way’s response and a clear ask for community partners. I also lay out a plan to clean up and invest in the Pennsy Trail, with the real cost menu from DPW. And after a last-minute twist at the hearing, Panda Express is officially back on track for East Washington.
This week’s Sunday Post starts with a loss in Beech Grove, then moves into real progress on Washington Square Mall. I also share the YMCA conversation and the priorities I put on the table with the Mayor’s Chief of Staff.
This week I brought City leadership, the YMCA, and Hancock Health together at the Indy Chamber for a working session Indy should have started years ago. We walked through a scalable prevention model (DPC plus the YMCA) and the hard truth on Ransburg: saving it as-is requires an endowment-style solution and about $20M, with a March 31 deadline approaching fast.
