2025 Spring Fiscal Amendments

Republican City-County Councilors proposed key amendments to redirect funds toward repairing Marion County's crumbling roadways. Their core message: get back to the basics––filling potholes and reshoring roads––before spending taxpayer funds elsewhere.

Breakdown of the Amendments

Amendment 1: Republican councilors are putting taxpayer money where it matters — rebuilding Marion County’s broken roads. That means using our finite dollars to the greatest impact; that starts with repairing our roads.

Amendment 2: We’re committed to preserving our forests—while also repaving and reinforcing our roads.

Indianapolis' forests aren’t just green spaces—they’re economic assets that enhance our quality of life and support the local economy. Republican Councilors are focused on maximizing value for taxpayers in this year’s spring fiscal plan. By investing in both our parks and our roads, we’re ensuring a balanced approach that benefits all of Indianapolis.

Amendment 3: The City-County Council refuses to write blank checks; that’s why Republican Councilors are requesting the Office of Public Health and Safety return a detailed proposal on the Indianapolis Foundation's scope of work. Once the foundation produces a plan, the council will produce the funds.
